Hajjah Naziha Charity Explain how to Calculate Zakat for 2020 during Ramadan Lockdown and Discuss how the donations are used
Hajjah Naziha Charity explains how to Calculate Zakat for 2020 during Ramadan Lockdown and that the donations will be used mainly for Pakistan food drives.
Hajjah Naziha Charity (HNCO) began with Hajjah Naziha, who is the eldest child of Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil (d.2014), and the founder of the Naqshbandiyya-Nazimiyya Sufi Order, and Hajjah Amina bint Ayesha (d.2004), a shaykh and Islamic scholar who wrote extensively on lives of the prophets, and whose family escaped religious persecution in Tatarstan, Russia.
Hajjah Naziha with her husband Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani; Shaykh Nazim’s deputy and spiritual heir, advise Muslims around the world.
They believe it is essential now more than ever to help many worshippers, who are so used to giving cash at their local mosque, to calculate Zakat for 2020 and carry on with the essential acts of charity that are part of Ramadan.
Zakat – How to calculate and give to charity during Ramadan
For all Muslims, Zakat is a mandatory process and is regarded as a form of worship. So, HNC has created a Zakat calculator to help you work out your Nisab Zakat payment.
HNCO state that Zakat must be paid by Muslim adults who have net assets exceeding the Nisab. So, the Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim can possess before Zakat is owed.
This means they’re obligated to pay Zakat once their asset value meets that Nisab threshold. It must be paid after one lunar year. The Zakat calculation is cash, shares, pensions, gold and silver market values, business goods, and income from investment information.
You can donate online today on the HNCO website, and there is a form at the end which you fill out to pay your Zakat.
Donations used for Pakistan food drives
HNCO had a successful Ramadan Food Drive last year, with money raised through traditional donations of Zakat, Fidya, Kaffarah and the sales of Medina Ajwa dates with fund the ‘Feed a Village’ project of 30 villages in 30 days across Pakistan and India.
The donations used for Pakistan food drives include food parcels of meat, flour, rice which are handed out to some of the most impoverished areas.
One of the best forms of donations is Sadaqah Jariyah which is an ultimate act of charity by a Muslim. What’s so gratifying about this is that every culture, race, ethnicity, language and religion unite for one cause, to help those who are in need.
The Qur’an contains detailed words spoken by the Great Allah SWT and the Prophet Muhammad PBUH about Sadaqah, so Islam puts a high claim on the importance of this undertaking and the ultimate act of charity.
Also, HNCO mentions that Ramadan Kareem is seeking Allah’s mercy during Ramadan; this means asking for forgiveness and finding emancipation from the hellfire. HNCO shares some ways to seek Allah’s mercy on the first ten days on their website along with helpful information about Ramadan Kareem.
